Numerous Scholarships are provided for persons seeking to pursue Nursing Education.

CRITERIA FOR N. J. L N. NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS

I. APPLICANTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AWARDS SHOULD:

A.	Be one of the following:

1)	Students who will be entering their SENIOR year in a RN or LPN program prior to the Fall semester
2)	Accelerated Program Students admitted to a program scheduled to begin in the Summer semester. (Proof of acceptance to program is required)
3)	Registered Nurse enrolled in a B.S.N. program.

B.	Be a New Jersey resident enrolled in a National League for Nursing accredited nursing program (Diploma, Assoc. Degree, Baccalaureate, L.P.N. ) within the State of New Jersey.
C.	Present evidence of academic ability:

1)	Official transcript from institution in which enrolled must include Spring semester. Accelerated Program Students: transcripts must include Spring semester.
2)	A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above.

D.	The applicant must write an essay of not more than 300 words, (TYPEWRITTEN - DOUBLE SPACED) on "Why the nursing profession was chosen with an overview of professional goals."

II GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE GUIDELINES:

A.	The minimum award will be $200.
B.	All applications and supporting documents must be received by June 30th.
C.	Selection of award recipient(s) will be determined by the Scholarship Committee comprised of educators elected to the NJLN Board of Directors.
D.	Selection of the award recipient(s) will be based on merit.
E.	Scholarship money will be paid directly to the recipient via a check payable jointly to the student and the school of nursing.
